The Kinky Curly Theological Collective is excited to announce our 2019 Call for Submissions. Encompassing the theme of our 2019 event series, “Unveiling the Black Women Inside,” we invite Black and African women to share their story with us.

“Unveiling the Black Women Inside,” is about uncovering and revealing the truth about who we are, truth that is either forcibly hidden or that has gotten lost through all of the -isms. Each session touches on a different strand of identity including spirituality, cultural heritage, and sexuality. While it is not required for those who submit pieces to attend these sessions, we highly encourage it in order to build community. Upcoming event dates include February 23, March 30, and April 27.

The submission period is open from February 23 – June 30, with publication set for late 2019/ early 2020. Submissions could include poetry or prose and there is no word limit. Please submit your work to kinkycurlytheological@gmail.com.
